USPS Informed Delivery

A free service provided by USPS

USPS has a free service called Informed Delivery(https://www.usps.com/manage/informed-delivery.htm). Every morning you get an email with a picture of all the mail coming to your mailbox. It also lists any packages expected that day and packages that are being processed. This can be useful because you know when an important piece of mail is coming or when a much awaited package is going to be delivered.

You can set various notifications up on the website or the app such as Packaged Delivered, Available for Pickup and Package In-Transit Updates. These notifications can be sent through text or email. If a piece of mail requires a signature, you can provide an electric signature so your package will be delivered without you having to physically sign up for it.

I’ve been using this feature for several years. I don’t like to check the mail every day so if nothing important is coming that day, I’ll just ignore it. Since moving from a house to an apartment, it’s been more important to know when packages are coming. I have a smaller mailbox that can only fit so much. So when I have a package filling out the mailbox, I need to go grab it that day. I would highly recommend signing up for USPS Informed Delivery.
